They’re all around us! Who knew when I woke up that Thursday morning, it was supposed to be an extraordinary day, which would produce a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It was a beautiful afternoon, a calm sea water, so Allan from West Coast Outdoor Adventure Rentals http://www.westcoastoutdoor.ca and I decided to do a Hobie kayaks for a spin. Heading out to Secretary Island just off the dishes, BC Juan de Fuca Strait got the word was a large pod of orcas near. We were so excited to receive this news and the outlook for the killer whales, we were immediately interesting. As luck would have it, whales were just as intrigued by us. We do not see the whales were swimming near Otter Point, about a mile and a half from where we bobbed and drifted around like buoys in our kayaks. We could just make out the black specks on the horizon, and dorsal fins. The killer whales were hugging the coastline, so we were quite surprised by the events that take place over the next 30 minutes.Even are open, usually in turbulent waters of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, we were paddling in the flood tide was smooth, effortless. We had our position and whales got closer and closer. The whole pod was heading our way. Pod got a little closer, much closer to it. Then they were all around us! And all with us! And our side! My mother and her calf gave us incredible experience, if I had not caught the video scene, I would never have believed it. I can sincerely say that it was one of the most stunning, exciting (and scary!) Events in my life. Mother and child swam directly towards us, bent down and dove right in front of my kayak. I do not see them both swimming under my kayak and then disappear from the depths. I do not know where or when it would emerge, I sat in anticipation. And then they surfaced directly in front of my kayak.Wow. Unbelievable! They were all around us. Do not believe me? Think I’m exaggerating? This is not a fisherman’s tall tale, and I have video to prove it. Join me on my adventure and watch this amazing recount.Dont not forget to check out the official website to learn more about Online Discover dinners corporate dinners, and our society www.discoversooke.com. http://www.discoversooke.comWest Coast Outdoor Adventure Rentals Harbour Resort and Marina is located dinners http://www.sookeharbourresort.ca *** UPDATE *** We would like to let everyone know that we are in contact with DFO (Department of Fisheries and Oceans), because they were a little worried about this video. We assured them that our intentions that day were not intentionally place themselves in the midst of whales, but rather to head out the hopes that we might be passing by a witness from a safe distance. “L-POD” were distributed around 1 km in diameter, which placed us among them, before we even knew it, as they were close to the shore and moves very quickly. We felt that we were not able to safely move out of the way and we have time. They appeared around us as soon as it started. There was a fishing vessel and the whale watching boat near us, so we felt we are doing the right thing for everyone else just staying where was.West Coast Outdoor Adventure Rentals does not rent kayaks for the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and is used only for meals and the Harbour Basin. They were not hired, we had our own guidelines and regulations time. For the whale, then I guess Whale Wise website: FINAL http://www.straitwatch.org//whale_wat …*** UPDATE ***
