Sevylor Pointer K2 Inflatable Kayak
pros:
- The bow and stern are reinforced with ABS Plates that enable the K2 to cut through the water just like a quality rigid kayak.
- The flat bottom plus the pointed shape and the skeg tracking fin that you attach to the underside coupled with the balance and length of this craft are winning characteristics.
- The Sevylor Pointer K2 Kayak has three cockpit options. With the spray skirt removed, you have an open cockpit for calm conditions in warm weather. The other two options are when the supplied spray skirts are fitted, either for solo or tandem use.
- There is a stern cargo covered hatch for easy access to the large cargo hold. A dry storage
bag to hold your gear is supplied with the kayak.
- Plenty of deck bungee lacing for attaching deck cargo for that extended trip. There are also tie downs for spare paddles. The kayak has other handy features like a water bottle holder to keep refreshed on long trips and a mesh storage pouch in the cokpit.
- Easy inflation and deflation and, as with all inflatables the transport and storage advantages.
Cons:
- The Sevylor Pointer K2 Inflatable Kayak has one dissadvantage of being a little slow compared to other inflatables and definitely other hard-shells of similar price.
- Drying out the kayak prior to storage is a lengthy time consuming process.
Summary:
This Sevylor Pointer K2 kayak with its load capacity, maneuverability, stability and performance is a great kayak for the price. It is convertible into a one man or two man kayak or open cockpit style. Strong and robust and able to withstand punctures with ease.
A lot of Kayak for your money and all of it will fit into a suitcase sized holdall.

The Sevylor Pointer K1 Inflatable Kayak is ideal for lakes and slow moving rivers. It can handle a reasonable swell at sea and low level rapids. It is made of Sevytex, a heavy-duty nylon/PVC laminate material that will provide years of service.
The kayak has a tubular I-Beam construction that creates a rigid flat bottomed hull, that is very stable and combined with 2 skegs tracks very well and is surprisingly, extremely maneuverable.

Sevylor Pointer K1 Inflatable Kayak
Pros:
- Flat bottom and 2 skegs, provide a very stable, yet highly maneuverable kayak. Even a complete novice will have theability to paddle safely and keep on track easily. Windage is kept to a minimum, so even in fairly high wind conditions maintaining your path is quite easy.
- There are 3 inflation / deflation valves for quick and easy inflation and deflation.
- There is a fair amount of room for carrying spare gear in the Sevylor Pointer K1 Kayak, such a tent for longer trips. A convenient cargo hatch located on the stern with a spray cover, provides easy access to any gear.

- The Sevylor Pointer K1 Kayak has a large, adjustable, padded seat and back-rest for all day comfort.
- Plenty of bungee deck rigging to allow spare gear or a spare paddle to be securely strapped to the external deck.
- There are some nice touches, such as a water bottle holder and a spray skirt that will keep you reasonably dry.
Cons:
- The cockpit of the Sevylor Pointer K1 Kayak is a little tight to get in and out of compared with other inflatables. So for people over about 5’10” and about 200lbs, they may find it a little bit difficult to get in and out.
- There is also an issue with leg and foot room. Again for the bigger person, who has larger that average foot size may find it uncomfortable.
- The spray deck of the Sevylor Pointer K1 Kayak will keep out some general spray, it is not very waterproof and will let in any heavy water spray or wash. Spraying with a good quality waterproofing agent will help considerably.
Summary:
The Sevylor Pointer K1 Inflatable Kayak is a good quality inflatable especially in calm conditions, such as lakes
and slow moving rivers. Depending on your ability, taking it on rapids may be a bit of a stretch, and expect to get
wet. However, getting wet I would have thought is not really high on peoples “Things I don’t want to do in this
boat” list.
So for the smaller person, and if storage area at home is a bit limited, then this is a good choice. It probably
won’t hold up to a hard-shell kayak, but at half the price or less and with the ability to carry it anywhere easily,
then this will be hard to beat.
