The AdvancedFrame
Convertible Kayak is a fifteen-foot kayak that can be paddled solo or tandem. It has an optional single or double deck that you can use to convert it into a solo or tandem kayak in a matter of seconds. The Kayak can also be used without either of the decks, if you don’t mind getting a bit wetter.

The AdvancedFrame Convertible Kayak
The Advanced Frame Convertible Kayak really is exceptional, it is light enough to be checked onto an aeroplane, or thrown into the trunk of your car along with your gear for a weekend away.
The main Pro’s
- Quick to set up, using a double action hand pump – which is an extra item that needs to be bought – it takes no more than 20 minutes from getting it out of the trunk, to launching it into the water. With experience this time will be reduced quite significantly.
- There is plenty of space for two large adults, and if the double deck is not used then two small children can also fit in with ease; however, this will decrease the amount of storage space for your gear.
- The AdvancedFrame Convertible Kayak is an extremely stable kayak. Unlike traditional hard shell kayaks, inflatable kayaks are very difficult to tip over. While it is possible, you need to work at it. The reason being, inflatable kayaks have a flat bottom, making them very stable.
- It tracks very well, Maintaining straight lines whilst paddling isn’t too difficult, also due to it’s low profile in the water the windage is kept to a minimum, although there will be some effect but not so bad it can’t be overcome.
- Equally responsive solo or in tandem.
- It is quite a lengthy and difficult process to completely dry out the kayak, but not impossible.
- Re-Packing the Kayak back into the carry bag whilst wet is a bit difficult, One solution is to fold it up wet, then once you have the time to dry it out properly, then you can pack it into the bag. Still a bit of an effort, but achievable.
Summary:
Overall the AdvancedFrame Convertible Kayak is an excellent piece of kit. Whereas it isn’t up to the standard of a hard case Kayak, it performs very well up to its limits.
It is easily stored and carried, quick to set up and take down, stable and tracks well.
Ideal for couples, or small families with young children, or if you want the capacity to paddle solo or tandem.
