The Advanced Elements AirFusion Kayak is not totally an inflatable kayak. Due to the aluminum frames it is more half rigid frame and half inflatable. It has been designed to be a serious rival to a skin-on-frame kayak in handling and speed. It incorporates a unique design of pressurized air tubes and aluminum alloy frame poles. The resultant design in a rigid frame kayak of extremely high performance.

Advanced Elements AirFusion Kayak
Specifications:
Length 13 feet
Width 25 inches
Weight 32 lbs
The Advanced Elements AirFusion Kayak can still be classed as an inflatable, but due to the aluminum poles, that make up an extremely rigid frame, the AirFusion acts very much like a hard-shell kayak when being paddled.
Pros:
- The combination of rigid aluminum poles and high-pressure air tubes results in a kayak with a high performance.
- The AirFusion kayak has quite a narrow beam, when compared with other kayaks. This results in a kayak that is extremely responsive, that really excels on quiet waters such as lakes, gentle rivers and bays.
- The skin is made of a triple-layer polyester material with double PVC coating. This material combined with welded seams ensure long life and excellent puncture resistance.
- Access to the bow and stern through zippered access aides in the set up and entry into the storage areas.
- Large well padded seat for optimal comfort on long trips.
- Boston Twistlok valves, compatible with most inflation pumps.
Cons:
- Due to the aluminum poles, it is more cumbersome to take travelling. There is a longer set up time, when compared with other inflatable kayaks.
- Due to the lightness of the kayak and the absence of a tracking aid such as a skeg or rudder, the tracking is a little difficult especially in conditions of high wind.
- The fact that the AirFusion Kayak has a narrow beam, the stability is not as good as most inflatable
With everything taken into consideration the Advanced Elements AirFusion Kayak is an excellent addition to the Advanced Elements range. The upgraded performance of this kayak, if a little dampened by the lack of tracking help, cannot be understated. Also, the sleek lines of this kayak, and they are very nice, sleek lines, will ensure this will grace any water way.
User Reviews:
Most of the reviews I have read pretty much all agree and I must say, rave about the performance, for example “I have to admit it is more fun to paddle than any other kayak I have enjoyed. By comparison, other inflatables and hard-shells now seem rather routine.”
There doesn’t seem to be any problems with transporting it, even with the aluminum poles. The extreme lightness makes carrying it no problem at all.
There are some negative comments about the amount of room to carry spare gear, however, I think this is more down to the fact this is not an expedition kayak and is designed more for manoeuverability, also some say that putting the aluminum frame together and taking apart once you have finished is a nightmare, but this is in the minority. Most say it is no problem or gets much easier with practice.
Most reviews say they absolutely love this kayak and would definitely recommend it to a friend.
